Default New to Audi

Hello Everyone. Just purchased my first Audi, it's an '03 A4 1.8T and I love it. I bought it used but Audi is being nice enough to allow the transfer of their certified pre-owned warranty to me since it was certified a year ago. Anyway, I'm very happy with my new car and look forward to learning about this car since I come from the Japanese side - I traded in my 2005 Matrix XR.

Here is the first picture I took. I actually have a technical question - there seems to be a void space between where the coolant reservoir and Brake components are and right to the left of the power steering fluid reservoir. It looks likethere used to be some type of reservoir in the area but cannot tell what it was fromt eh owner's manual. I want to be sure this is fine since all I see there is the funnel cup at the bottom where something sat at one point. The car runs fine but don't want to run to long if this is somehting critical. Any help would be appreciated - Thanks everyone!!!
