I'm having it checked out as soon as I can. I'd like to get as much covered under warranty as I can. If its something serious, I can always sell it again.

If it's something serious make the stealership take it back, they sold you a crap car then, don't pass it off onto someone else.

Will do. I'm picking it up early (tomorrow) and I already contacted a VW mechanic. He said he'll check it out for me to make sure everything is okay. I see these cars still go for over $6000 with 100k+ miles on them. I would imagine they last for a while?

yeah, if taken care of the 12v V6 (which is what you have) will last well into the 250+K range. Mine currently has 197K on it and running strong.

Well I was going to pick the car up today. As I was walking out the door they call and tell me that the car needs a power steering rack since it is leaking and new brakes. The dealer said they would do everything, but the power steering rack, but knock off $500 if I still want the car. So I'll be calling to get quotes to see what I can do for the time being. This sucks..

more like knock off a grand, your looking at 500 just for the part and then it's a good long job for the install. I'd go elsewhere unless you can get them to drop at least a1,000 off the price.

Found another with less miles and the same price. This one is a 1.8t, I would rather have a 2.8, but I'll look into it. The reason why I didn't want a 1.8t is because of the turbo at a higher mileage. This one has 84k though so not bad. Would there be anything as far as the turbo going bad I should take into consideration? Its auto, and I'd rather have a stick turbo car, but hey can't win em all.
