Default New to the forum but not Audi

Just stumbled upon this forum last week. I really like the atmosphere here. I owned a 98.5 A4 qts about two years ago, but the car was sideswiped and the insurance company totalled it. My wife was the primary driver and wanted to replace it with a Honda Element, so I did. The Honda is practicle as hell, but I really miss the Audi. So I sold my daily driver, and now I'm looking to pick up another A4.

If I could have it my way, I'd ditch the Element (even though it's a great car), grab an A4 Avant 2.8 with tiptronic/quattro for the wife, and have an A4 1.8 quattro sedan for myself. But I'll need to convince the wife first. Anyway, for now I'll be looking for an A4 for myself and getting myself familiar with this forum.

Agreed. The Honda has had no problems (only 30k on it though) while the A4 can be a little more pricey for maintenance. I just can't get past the Element's looks. I call it our "plastic lunchbox on wheels". I loved our 2.8, and all I'd want to do with a 2.8 wagon is an intake, unobtrusive exhaust, chip, and lower it a bit.

For my own Audi (1.8), I'd do all of the above, but also an entry-level coilover kit, turbo upgrade, etc to bring it up around 300 crank hp.

The element has to be one of the uglyest cars out there. You gotta talk her into the audi avant lol

Well she loves the A4, and I told her that mine is going to be a 5-speed. She loves the car so much she wants to learn to drive it, even though I've had a 5-speed Neon for over a year now, and she never asks me to drive that I'll win her over, get her a nice Avant and a little sleeper sedan for myself.
