Default New Guy.....

Hey hey....

well....i'll put this short and sweet. I've never had a car, was forced to wait until I could buy my own..

Now i'm 22, with a great job, and I just bought a 2001 Audi A6 2.8

what a jump from public transportation to a SWEET ride.

Those audi engineers are awesome....

Welcome to the forum NoticS!

This is a great site. We keep the dialogue friendly and the attitude positive. The info is well received by all and we are here to help anyone with questions about their Audi or related subjects. It is a great site to find camaraderie with other "Audiphiles", too. I hope you find it to your liking.

If you're not familiar with this forum and the vocabulary, please click HERE or you can, at any time, go to the "New Member Welcome Area" forum and click on the "START HERE!" post at the top of the forum. There you will find a forum vocab list, an Audi forum terminology list and an Audi lexicon list. They should be very helpful to you if you're not familiar with the jargon.

Please feel free to ask any question, but double check the archives first. Many questions have been archived and, quite often, the answers are comprehensive.

If you want to notify us about a personal problem with the site or file a complaint about a particular member, please feel free to PM the Admin, me, or any other moderator. We will keep your PM confidential and respond as soon as possible. Otherwise, please feel free to post public messages about the forum on the "Forum Issues" forum (found at the bottom of the main menu). It is there that we prefer you "test" your sig, too.

We all welcome you and hope you find this sight informative and enjoyable.

Congrats on the A6!

Hey that's great. I wouldn't bust on him for being able to afford an Audi at 22. He'll have a greater appreciation for the car than most of the kids out there that convince Daddy to buy them one.
Congrats to you again NoticS.

Right on. Welcome to the forums. Hope you like it here. You sure did enter Audi ownership with a bang. How many miles are on it? Are you planning to do any modifications?

thanks for the feedback guys....

Slim....

the reason I did buy a car before now was because i didnt want a cheap lil piece of crap car up until now. I told myself I want that nice car all my buddies have......that i dont. I didnt wanna settle for a cavalier at 18. I waited, now i've rewarded myself for my patience

Also....I can say with all honesty (and maybe being a lil bias) that the Audi i have is a smoother ride than a BMW or a Benz. At least the ones my friends have...

one of my buddies has a 99 CLK 430 sittin on 18" diablos...
and another one has a 00 325ci sittin on 18" M3 Chrome Rims.

and my A6 has a smoother ride than theirs......of course its a bit of a different class, but I dont care. I top them in one category at least!

What do I plan on doing to it so far?

Well....below is a small list

1. Tints.....really dark, all the way around
2. Rims.....probably deep dish chromed, around 19"
3. Chrome Grill.....been looking online for one. But havent found it....i might settle for the mesh grill with the Audi logo in it.
4. Change the foglights to Xenon HID

what i've done thusfar...

1. Chrome fog light covers
2. Chrome door handles
3. Chrome tail light covers
4. Chrome lower grill inserts (not the center)
5. Chrome Side turn signal inserts

So basically i'm going for the chromed out look.....

the car details.

2001 A6 2.8 Quattro
bought with 32085 miles
Premium Package
Cold Weather package
Bose Sound System
black leather
Steering wheel mounted audio controls
Driver and Passenger side seat memory controls

all for 23k (without tax/title/etc)

Good deal? I live in the chicagoland area and i think it was a good deal? What you guys say?
