Hello,

Name is Brandon. Im looking to get me another car vs my Volvo 740T brick. Ive been researching on the 2001 S4's and A6's. Seeing as there basically the same enigne wise. Did the A6 have a Manual transmission? or is that only in the S4. Any advantages over one another?

Also I just loaded a pdf from this forum about the S4/A6 engine. I see there are pistion "squirters" which is a plus but what is the size of the rods? Any come forged?

im not much of an expert on 2.7t's but i doubt the rods are forged. piston's most likely. try asking in the s4 section, they'll definitely be able to help you out.

and there are a crapload of differences between the s4 and a6. the a6 won't handle, accelerate, or stop like the s4 can, but it's bigger (if u got a family)
