im not 100% sold on the idea, but heres where im at. i have a '97 240sx with alot of mods. i dont really dig the car that much anymore, so im contemplating selling it. the only trouble is, im afraid i might miss the power too much. thats the only downside. on the upside, i want a newer, more grown up, euro DD. i live just north of detroit, so i have winter to compete with. ive been a BMW nut, since i started to get interested in cars. if i were to move on to an audi, i'd be looking for an '01 A4. i dont like the B6's, and i dont want to spend alot of money. i see that you can now get a relatively low mileage '01 A4 for around $8K. which is a deal, assuming the car is solid.

SO, this is what i have.


RB25, GT30, EMS, BBK, Coilovers, etc, etc, etc, etc. lol. the car itself has i think 51k on it. and it put down 453hp at 15PSI.

its an '87 325is. its an old pile of ****, but i absolutely love it. its my 3rd bmw, and 2nd E30. as of now, this is my DD.

the idea behind getting an A4, is to have something reliable, sporty, and driveable in the snow. im picturing a B5 with blisteins/neuspeed race, AMG monoblocks, and a chip. nothing over the top, but good looking and relatively sporty. then i can focus on my E30.

this is all just a thought. a few weeks ago, i was looking at W210 E320's. more specific the estates (wagons). some with 4-matic ofcourse. but i cant get past the part where there is no manual trans. im not really into the E46, so i didnt even bother with that. sooo, all that brings me here.

im just going to snoop around and read stuff, so you prob wont see any posts from me unless i decide to take the plunge and toss the red car up FS. but thats about it.

 

That 240 is so clean man, I wouldn't even consider selling that thing. If anything I'd put an s15 front on it just to keep it fresh, and looking different than anything else on the road. How much would you sell it for btw?

 

i cant stand the S15 front, personally. im hoping to get 14 for it, minus the wheels and cf hood. it may be a long shot, but if someone is looking to build a monster, this is an excellent starting point. not to mention, alot of money saved.

 

Winter? My good friend, the only starting point is quattro, QUATTRO, QUATTRO!
