Just made a deal to purchase a 2000 A6, with 120,000 km (74,000 miles). Undoubtedly, it will need some TLC.

Any recommendations on maintenance? The timing belt has been done, but what other things should I be looking at to keep it running in top form?

Also, is there any consensus on what oil to use, and what kind of fuel it likes best? Or is regular fuel ok?

It has the 2.8l and is a quattro.

Thanks for the replies! I've had a chance to go through the owner's manual and see that premium fuel is recommended.

I plan on getting the first oil change done next week. I've read that full synthetic oil is the way to go - any preference for one brand over the other? Or am I fine as long as stick with the recommended grade?
