depending on when the first timing service was done, it may be due for another. The 2.8 is definitely one of the more reliable Audi engines. Really isn't much in the way of performance upgrades that you can do to it, if that is a concern for you (supercharger, super expensive). It should be relatively straightforward. good maintenance records. regular oil changes. look for leaks and possible transmission issues. if it looks like it was well cared for, and the price is right, could be a keeper.

It's bone stock at the moment. Only plans really if bought would be suspension wheel/tire upgrade. It apears to have been taken care of looks wise but going to meet the guy in 2hrs if all is well plan to be an active member.
