Old A4 1.9TDI Owner from UK
Hi All
Thought I would join this Forum after seeing some really useful advice on water leaks and alarm settings.
I drive a 97 model A4, 1.9TDI (110) with Auto transmission and I've had the car from new, now with over 120K on the clock.
Still get nearly 50mpg overall (Imperial Gallons, of course, not US) and oil top ups use about 1 pint every 3000 miles or so.
The A4 has been very reliable, apart from needing some expensive front suspension work about 6 years ago.
Hope to see you all on the Forum, and maybe make a few contributions myself.

Welcome!
I had a 1.9l TDI in my Vdub and totally loved the engine. So many mod possibilities if you're into that sort of thing. That engine is a torque monster. For a few hundred bucks you can chip it and get 110+hp and 200+lbs tq. Add some really good injectors and the number climbs to 120-130hp and 230+lbs of torque. I can give you info on the best injector manufacturers if you like. The nozzles are made by a small company in Italy.
Cheers!
