I am new to this site and have found these forums to be helpful.
Here is my situation....
I have driven MB almost 30 years, most recently the S550 4matic but recently the local dealer closed. If I am to continue with MB, the next dealership is over 80 miles away and it would be a hassle.
However, in my area is an Audi dealer.
Is now the time?
I have looked at and sat in A8L, not driven. Don't need long, any difference in handling between A8L vs A8? Seems there has to be
Is A7 better for performance but not comfort than A8?

Any info or imput would be appreciated.

I recommend that you give the models you are looking at a test drive. The A8L is definitely a boat, but handles a lot smaller than it is. Just bear in mind that it is as big as it is (does that make sense?) I think coming from the Merc you will be more than satisfied with the Audi. If you're in an area that experiences bad winter weather (even occasionally) there simply is no substitute for Quattro!
