Hello, I am looking at 2005-06 S4 and RS4 models for purchase. My question is, I realize that there is a significant difference between the A4 and S4 in terms of upkeep and maintenance costs, but is there a significant difference between the S4 and RS4 in terms of ongoing costs? Is one of the other considered generally more reliable than the other? I drive mostly in my small city and on country roads. Is one car better than the other for this? Im trying to familiarize myself with the general differences between the RS and the S. ANy input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well the S4 is going to be cheaper for the most part. Not only is the price tag cheaper on the S4 but the maintenance will be cheaper as well for the most part.

 

A class gets you hot girls.
S gets you just about the same depending on year.
RS models gets you super models random flashes from pedestrians or flashes from random drivers.

go for the RS if you have the coin.

Are you planning on buying one new? CPO? or private?

 

05-06 CPO or private. If my insurance is not excessively different from the RS to the S, and if maintenence costs are not excessively different, Im going to get the RS. This is basically what I am trying to find out here.
