Greetings from MN. I am glad to have joined the forum after reading some of the posts by the A8 experienced members. My history with cars goes back a long way with rebuilding big blocks back in the 70's to some amateur road racing, 1/4 mile and AutoX-Solo in twin turbo VR4 3000 GTs. I was one of the first few that ran this model with the AEM stand alone engine mgt. system back in 2002. That was a huge learning curve with AEM's yearly version updates!
I hope to find a decent low mileage 2006 ( the non FSI design) in an A8L to accomodate clients and to use for long trips.
The stories about carbon sludge issues in the FSI because of a lack of any supportive fuel before the intake valves, makes me want to avoid the '07 and up models. Finding a decent A8L well cared for on lots or Ebay motors is difficult at best. So hopefully I can become better educated on the A8 and contribute the little I do know to others on non Audi specific issues with suspensions, etc .

I just wanted to say hi to everyone since I am new here.

In 2009 I bought my wife a 2006 A-4 and grew to love it so much that I bought a 2012 A-4 in January :). Hers now has 55k on it and mine has 10k. I should catch her in about two years:D.

You should've received a welcome email from the site, in the email address you used to register. It has an account activation link in it. Click that and you'll activate full permissions for site usage. Check your inbox and your spam folder. If the email is in neither location, shoot me a message (click my username and you'll have a link to do this), and I'll manually set your permissions.

I registered a while ago so the email with the activation link is probably long gone. If you can manually reset my permissions tha would be great. I'm about to buy my second audi and have couple of questions.
