Default Used to be a bimmer man...

Hello all, I am the owner of my very first Audi. I recently purchased a 2002 A8L.
I look forward to learning all I can about Audi ownership.

Welcome to the Audi community.

Sounds like you got yourself a nice car.
Any pictures? What's the future plan for it? 20's and Air-ride?

BTW- what kind of BMW did you to have?

I used to own a 2008 BMW 328i. I know your probably wondering how I went from a brand new bimmer to a used Audi. Well, I'm military and was stationed overseas in Germany. In Germany for the military service members they have the BMW Military Sales Program. I was able to buy the bimmer tax free as well as below invoice pricing. I was supposed to go to Korea for two years from Germany so I decided to trade it in for a 2010 535i. Yes, a 2010 as long as you sign the contract while you have valid orders for Germany you can take delivery of the vehicle anywhere and anytime. Well, Korea fell through and I ended up coming to Texas instead. I wanted something nice while I was waiting to take delivery of the BMW, which the 2010 has a new body style. I couldnt really find any nice BMWs that I could just pay for outright and I started looking at Audis and the rest is history.

I do plan on posting some pics.

So far I have just done basic cosmetic changes. I replaced the OEM side view mirrors for chrome mirrors. I put the chrome on the grill slats. I added the chrome exhaust tips and I am about to put the 20s on it. I'm going to add the Eibach springs, have it detailed and call it a day for now.

What about you?

That's quite an awesome quest you had! While you were in Germany, you should've bought lots of European parts for our cars! Also while you're at it, get me an Euro trunk! LOL.

I can't wait to see the end result of that A8. I'm always a big fan of those A8's.

As for me, I have a 2001.5 B5. It's actually an endless money pit and always a work in progress. I guess at one point I could've called it a day but as I get tired of some things, I started replacing them with some new ones. All in all, I'm probably gonna keep this car forever considering the amount of money I've put in it and the fact that it's hard to find one of these in good (if not excellent) conditions today.

Did you do anything to the E90/92 (did you have four or two door?)
I also have a 2007 E90 335xi. Nice little car and pretty quick too.
