from what i've read in that article it was disqualified because no other awd cars were used at the time. I guess I took it the wrong way. I thought it had an unfair advantage as opposed to, lets say, Subaru's awd...

 

Heh, no, just at the time everyone was getting pissed because they kept winning all the events, and no one else had done the research on an AWD system... It's fair to say, that every AWD system out there is a copy of Audi's design... It was one of of my main decisions in buying the car I have now.
