i am the proud owner of a 1984 Audi 4000s old school all the way but i am having some troubles with what i believe the distributor...

the cap was wagging back and forth on the distributor when car was running, it was tight on there, took it off and the contacts on the cap were very chewed up, so i replaced cap and rotor. Ran fine for a day then started running really badly again, no movement on the distributor cap. Runs like there is no power, sounds like a VW bug now.. any ideas ?????

ok so i changed the plugs they were very carbon fouled, 2 days later it started running poorly again and like a light switch fixed itself could this be an injector sticking or maybe i need a new air filter or fuel filter?

possible a leaky injector - check you plugs - are they fouled again? If so then a leaky injector is likely.
