RE: how much boost
If you have a AEB engine, 23-24 should be fine, if you have a ATW, 22psi would be about the max. Also you should have a good boost controller of some sort. One good boost spike and you could have a hole in the block with ease.

RE: how much boost
thanks and it is an awt, and i have picked up an aem true boost for the boost controller, since it seems you know a lot, someone told me that the weekest link in the a4 is the connecting rods, they also said about 330bhp is about all it can handle internal wise, is this true? also if it is true what internals should i start with to be able to increase the boost?

RE: how much boost
The tq is what breaks rods. I have seen as much as 380whp (driven daily) to 500whp (just a dyno) on stock rods. It all depends on the turbo and a/r of the turbine. The ATW uses 19mm wrist pins and you can just get some intergrated engineering rods (~$320). That will let you run the turbo at its full potention and max it out with w/m and/or race gas.
