The stock turbo of my B6 A4 1.8TQ died.
I would love to put in a bigger one now. Would I have to do any other changes in order to get the bigger turbo?
What would you suggest for a budget up to $2,000

You could do the B6 KO4 Turbo which runs around $1800 - $2100 depending on where you look. It is a bolt on pretty much but you might want to get some new catback exhaust.

 

With only $2k, i wouldnt change anything unless you can shell out another $1k for a clutch upgrade in about a month or so. About all you can really afford is a ko4-15 which isnt really an upgrade (rated 5hp more) or a gt2x elim with injectors and revo tune (might take you just over $2k unless you have a revo tune already). personally it would be better to just spend $150 on a used ko3s and replace your bad one until you can buy what you want and do it properly
