Default 2002 A6, need info

Fellas, I'm new to the site, hello in advance.

I have an opportunity to pick up a clean A6 2.7 TT, 6 speed manual.

Car is mint, 112k on the clock, asking price is $7900 US. Turbos, water pump, timing, clutch, all recent. Car has no issues whatsoever.

What kind of bolt on go fast goodies should I consider if I pick it up?

What kind of HP can be extracted from a mostly stock setup?

Gutted cats, comp tune, air intake a cheap start?

What kind of HP can be extracted from a bone stock setup, or just some mild mods?

One other thing, anything available to dress the body up a bit? Haven't found much out there with the Google search.

Any input, greatly appreciated.
Eggz.

Welcome to the site.
As for fast goodies you could get a chip which would give you around 320hp plus minus. www.giacusa.com, www.goapr.com sells chips for around $600. www.evoms.com is where I bought my intake. These should give you around 330-340hp (chip and intake together) estimated. If you want to get serious about power you can get the K04 turbo upgrade. As for body kits I am not too sure. Hope all this helps.

Thanks quattro, I made a few phone calls and found the sticky on new A6 owners AFTER I posted this thread. What you claim has been the general rule of thumb across the board. Thanks! Man, does the motor really need to be pulled to do the K04 upgrade? Thats a huge job for such minimal results. Then con rods to be on the safe side? Seems like exhaust, chip, intake is the best bang for the buck, still hella expensive!!

Anyway, I might be picking up a mint 02 2.7 tt 6 speed with 112k on the clock for right around $7500 US. All the necessary maintenance has supposedly been performed (turbos, water pump, timing etc) Sound like a killer deal?

I started posting here, asking questions to see if it's an OK deal, or one of those once in a lifetime specials. Let me know what you think..
