nitrous on 2.8 12v?
EGT = Exaust Gas Temperature
It will show you if you are squizing too much power. As well as the ether lean or reach and too advanced ignition or too retarded. In any case, that will save your engine from a melt down.

not a fast car! my 100s with a 2.8 12V tops at 140 mph and thats with 209k original miles on the engine. i'm in 5th gear in like 25 seconds and can do 60 mph in 2nd gear. thats pretty fast for as high mileage as my car is

personally i wouldn't do it. a 2.8 12v is just not a fast car, period. but whatever, to each his own

Make a slow car go fast. [sm=gears.gif]
To help my slow car go faster, I hired a "Little Person" that hides in the trunk, and at stop signs jumps out and pushes me off the line. Gotta love the tip, what a dog. Would be nice to have a 50 shot though. Be like PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! and me like OOOHHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTT!!! And GONE! LoL
I know a 75 shot knocked my old 2900lb car from a 16.5 to a 13.5 (withbreathing mods and suspension) and it was a 4 speed automatic...not a fast car when I started by anymeans. But at the end it was hanging with LS1's and Roasting Roushes.
A late model Z28 and a Cavalier door to door is some funny ****.

Nitrous is not ricer, its basically a cheap add-on that makes good power. If you know what you're doing with it, you wont hurt your car either. It can get expensive, depending on howmuch you spray, but if you keep it to when you need to only, you'll maybe go throught a bottle every couple weeks. In my integra, I had a bottle-a-week habit, it did get expensive, but everypenny of it was well spent, plus the thing about nitrous is unless you're spraying youstill get factory fuel mileage. I think I am gonna put a 50 shot on my 30V, maybe a 75, but I'm going to wait untill the Holidays are over, and I get my suspension and wheels.

Wouldn't any amount of nitrous hurt your engine and give it an additionalwear down?

Colder non platinum plugs, corrected timing, and corrected fuel and your good to go (I would also recommend a fuel pressure safety cutoff and window switch if your revlimiter is of the 'pull spark' variety).You also have the ability to "turn-off" the extra wear and tear. Preparing for a nitrous run can also bring to mind firing a rocket with the arming switches an such. Lots of fun.
Nitrous is about as ricer as a 454 big block, considering its originally military technology from the airforce. Not to mention it gained most of its automotive popularity on 50's hotrods and 60's musclecars.
Basically if you blow a motor on nitrous one of two things happened aside from a sub-system failure: You either didnt know what you were doing to begin with, or you did and pushed thelimit anyways.
Good luck, and spray away. If you've got the Cajones, that is.
