im thinking of adding a nitrous set up to my 05 a8 and im just curious are there any of you out there that have seen or heard of a set-up like this?
i have a 80shot wet open throttle system in mind.

 

careful you dont blow the welds on the intake manifold

 

so which system is safer where i maybe have less likely of a chance of doing that. the wet or dry? whats the cause of blowing the welts off the intake ? is it the fuel or the nitrous or just a combination of both?

 

id be more concerned about the transmission with a power adder like nitrous... The tranny is supposed to be the weakest link in A8s I believe.

 

um... please dont add nitrous to an a8... its sooo not the car for it...

just enjoy the luxury it brings and the 4.2

 

^ I agree, an A8 is not a honda or some other rice bucket, enjoy it for the luxury. If you wanted a race car, shoulda bought a 1.8T or a something with a 2.7T. Or buy a A6/ B6 S4 with the 4.2 and use the money you save to suoercharge it

^+1 for the S/C...and I think they do make a chip for your car for a bit of added power...

this is kinda off topic, but say if you had a BT, wouldnt you be able to use nitrous to cool it down?

 

you should supercharge the A8
