Default Power handle rating for cv axles on 2000 audi a4 quattro

What can the stock axles handle on a 2000 audi a4 quattro. With all wheel drive and some power especially from the and instant power boost from nitrous im wooried that too much power and too much bite might snap an axle. Im running regular radial tires 225/50/60 on back and 205/50/16 on front. Would like to put nitrous on to improve my 18.10 quarter mile time.

18.10!! holy ****! before you put "nos" on it learn to drive!! im pretty darn sure your car can run at least a 16 in the quarter mile bone stock... and just incase you don't take my advise and do put some spray on it you will be just fine with the axles... its the engine id be worried about... i forsee a post about a blown engine from you in the future....

uh he prolly has a 2.8 which would exsplain the 18 sec. quarter, there are a lot of people on here with added power and with that prolly at or above maybe 350 hp you should put a little thought into wether u need new axels for more power handleing or not

Default Decrease in performance over time

Well maybe back then it ran 16's in the quarter. I do have the 1.8t engine with 5 speed auto tiptronic. Ive been thinkink about doing a reflash as the car seems to be slowing down. In 2006 it used to top out at 140 now i cannot get it above 120. Ive got 86,000 miles on it now present year(2009) suspension needs some work but was wondering where that extra power went and knew nitrous would more than fullfill that gap.

you should get a flash and maybe a tip chip, and then see if it changes, have you done the normal maint to ur car. maybe have a compression test done.

Default maintanence rebuttal

Well, i have maintainded the car well. I have royal purple oil in the motor that i change out every year with a wix filter changed every 3,000 miles. I have a K&N filter that i recharge every year and clean the mass air flow sensor with every air filter cleaning. I put new NTK 02 sensors at 83,000 miles as well with new NGK iridium spark plugs. The diffirentials all have ROyal purple gear oil with the only thing left is the transmission to upgrade to Royal purple.

What are you talking about man? The stock 1.8T is slower than the stock 2.8L 30V. If anything, the 1/4 mile times for a stock 1.8T Tip would be slower.

Your rear end should be fine, along with the entire quattro drive line. There are S4s that push 1000hp on the stock drive line. lol.

I ran 16.2 @ 85mph in a 5spd A4 1.8t with stock power... you should be near that considering you have a huge hp advantage.
