Why would you want to put 2.7 heads on the 2.8? The 2.7t guys end up taking out their stock heads and put in 2.8 heads. So what you would be doing is going backwards.


So the answer would be yes the 2.7 manifolds bolt to the 2.8 since the S4 guys do it all the time.

As an engineer I might not always ask questions in the right format so I apologize. My reason for asking was to make sure that the blocks were essentially the same and the coolant flow would be sufficient. I needed to know if the manifolds would bolt up to keep from welding up new ones from scratch. Although I have experience with building custom turbo kits for bikes and cars, my experience with VW/Audi is limited to the 1.8T motor. Thanks to everybody on your feedback. Someone mentioned beefing up the bottom end of the 2.8? Please Pm me with that info because I know we're getting off topic here in this thread.

Actually that wouldn't really be off topic, seeing that most people would need to build up the bottom end of the 2.8 if they plan on running high boost.

Youl would just want to lower the CR and maybe a set of strong rods.
