To imolas4
Brand new to this forum and Audis but in happy to discover you are from Mass. I live in Manchester, NH and after lurking around in the forums you are the "guru". I'm convinced the (2001) A41.8T would be my first choice after reading your posts. 2nd would be A62.7T and 3rd S4. "Yankee thrift" with the "mod potential" influenced my order of perference. I hate to bug you about this but would you recommend or not recommend any used car dealers? New England Auto Max in Marlboro, Autobahn USA in Brighton or IRA. Or should I concentrate in the Union Leader or Globe classifieds? Also, Automax seems to carry alot of A41.8T automatics, around $17K. Are they OK if chipped or should I wait for a stick? You are the "king" and I'm glad u r local! Have a good day, Sir.

You can chip an automatic too but you are going to need another chip for the transmission too. If you are planning to do more updates than just a chip, lets say a bigger turbo, I'd say go with a manual it's going to be less pain and stronger tranny.
