New audi owner
Hello all, I just bought a 1997 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. White, automatic with black leather interior. Love it so far, out of curiousity since I'm new to Audi's when it starts up after being cold, it makes a humming sound. The dealer said something about a cold air intake that once it warms up it will go away, which it did. Also while I was test driving it he pointed out that it makes a slight whine while turning. He said this is due to the AWD and that the wheels are aligning or something along those lines. Just wanted to see if this is something serious or if he was just bsing me. Thanks for any help you can provide!
Its your secondary air pump making thehumming sondwhich is normal if it was bad it starts to sound like a jet engine. The whinning noisewhen your turnning is probaly your power steering check your fluid first.Use the search feature on top to get all the details. Car looks good!
Well I was going to pick the car up today. As I was walking out the door they call and tell me that the car needs a power steering rack since it is leaking and new brakes. The dealer said they would do everything, but the power steering rack, but knock off $500 if I still want the car. So I'll be calling to get quotes to see what I can do for the time being. This sucks..
