Default New guy in Philadelphia area

sup guys/gals, im looking to give up my beloved MR2 for a A4 1.8t so keep an eye out for me. with more seaching here im hope to have it going faster than my MR2. i brought my MR2 up from nothing, so far ive done the suspension, rims, body kit, jdm turbo motor swap and much more little things. as it stands now im running 13.5's could def hit 13.3's if i push it with more boost. mods include track straight pipe, water/alcohol injection, intake, stock turbo and motor. 225 hp/236 torque

now my 1st questions about the A4 1.8t is what year is the best option? i hear the 2000+ models have an up'ed hp of 170hp. has anybody attempted an S4 motor swap? what is the stock boost on the 1.8t? how much boost is the turbo/motor capable of handeling? more questions to come...........

'01 and up 1.8t's have 170hp, before '01 its only 150

body style changes from '01 to '02, so the best year depends on your body preference (B5 or B6).
most people tend to prefer the B5 ('96-'01)-myself included, but thats totally personal preference.

now that is where it gets tricky......
if u like the B5 body, but also want the 20 x-tra horses, you've only got 1 year to choose from , - 2001

the factory sport pkge, is also something u might want to look for,
Sport Pkge. included :
leatherette seats ( very realistic vinyl -fools most into thinking its real leather)
sport suspension (eibach springs, no cheap sport parts here)
17"wheels
and some other minor things such as diff. mirrors w/ auto-dim. & ****

you want my recommendation?..............

2001 A4 1.8T w/ sport pkge.

and oh, audi's original factory warrenty AND FREE SCHEDUELED MAINT. will carry over from owner-to-owner
it's 4yrs./ 50k miles on new audi's
so SOME '01's will still be covered(even if it is only for a few months) , depending on what month they were origionally sold in, you can call your deaker w/ a VIN and they can tell you.
obviously '02's and up are still covered.

that is, if u like the B6 - lol

for the S4 motor swap it would be cheaper to buy a S4

ok i def am looking for a 2001 A4 1.8t 5spd. it would be great if i find one still under warranty. 1 thing i thought was weird is that there is no turbo gauge even though it has a turbo. what type of blow off valve is stock? can i put on a vented BOV? what are common problems to look for when buying a used Audi? i was also wondering if the Audi A4's in germany have the same hp as our american A4's

5 sp. too, good choice

where in the Philly area are you?
i'm up in Willow Grove.

and i've got an '01 A4 1.8T Quattro , 5sp., w/ sports pkge.
silver w/ blk interior

but, sorry, no its not for sale.............
but when u get one Holberts up in Warrington is the dealer i've been taking mine to, i've got nothing but good things to say about them.

i saw a Porsche Carrera GT there about a month ago, getting ready to be delivered..........wow
they had an escort just to the gas station to make sure no-one acted a fool on the road.
i'm still in awe about that car.

"stealerships" -lol
did u see that story on the news recently about that car-theft ring outta north Philly?
eveidently they were swiping keys off of the counters in dealerships.
the Land Rover in Willow grove was one of the dealers that got hit..... a BRAND NEW '05 Range rover got swiped !!

thats actually the car that broke the case evidently, the got it on the road.
seems that the theives were selling the stolen rides out of a dealership in N. Philly.
they sold that new Range rover for TWELVE GRAND CASH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a "steal" -lol

too bad when the cops broke the case the vehicle was taken from the owner, and he's just out the 12 grand.
that sux, but you would have to question a deal like that.........

oh, and about the trade, not even for a 3 sec. MR2.- lol , maybe for that Carerra GT though ($450,000 car) but something tells me that trade isn't ever gonna be on the bargining table, we can allways dream though.
