Default New York Purchases

Where did everyone buy their cars on Long Island, privately or dealers? If purchased at dealers which ones did you like?

I'm in West Islip. Just purchased and will pick up Sunday my 05 TT from Smithtown Audi. I liked the way they handled everything. I had talked to dealers in Amityville (they just don't have a good reputation from other people I have talked to), read something negative in a forum regarding the Huntington dealer so I stayed away from them too. I also talked to a dealer in Lynbrook. I just wanted to stay in Suffolk. I wanted black/black, auto, and at this time it wasn't easy to find. My TT came from MA....

I got mine at New Country Audi in Greenwich CT. There sales people are great and they take care of you really well. I have heard that there service department sucks but I haven't had to have my car in yet.

I used Riverside Audi in West New York,NJ (just over the hudson). Not bad...but not great either....they did have a good inventory of cars.

Equally important, is what price did you pay??? I want to buy a new A4 Cabriolet, but I'm concerned they may claim it's very difficult to get a red one, and therefore I'd need to pay almost MSRP for it.

Have you been able to get Edmunds' price, or even a CarsDirect price for your new car? Anyone managed to pay just (say) 3% over invoice?
