Default What are your opinions on buying a car in the North East?

I found a 2003 wagon that lived most it's life in New Jersey, and about 3 months in Michigan during the winter. Living on the west coast all my life, rust has never been a concern of mine. After doing some research, I'm becoming somewhat concerned and am having second thoughts about actually buying it, especially since I won't have the opportunity to look at it first with the car being sold in Illinois and me living in New Mexico. I can only take the dealerships word for it, but, of course sometimes they cannot always be 100% trustworthy.

I'm not in a rush to buy a vehicle, but I have been in the market for one with very specific options for quite sometime. If this is a vehicle that could potentially give me problems in the future, I can wait for another one to come up another day....someday. Thoughts?
