lol

i was hoping G20 would be held during winter so protesters would stay away from the cold. They already said that what has happened today made the one in Pitsburgh child's play. Im affected by this because the building i work at is within the zone where the G20 meeting is being held, and a group of anarchist have set cars on fires, broken windows, thrown golf *****, rocks, graffitis.

The amount of cops in the downtown core is mind boggling. The meeting doesnt end until Monday.

This is because the G20 summit is bullshit.
I was pissed when I heard that we were getting it and when I heard what we were spending on it. Back in the day it was the G5, 6, and 7 and **** got done. Maclean's has a great article on it that was published last week. The first G 'summit' was held over DINNER. The first G8, if I recall correctly, cost 5.5 million dollars. Now we're up to 1.3 billion in costs (not counting the cost of lost business productivity which will likely double that figure). There are so many people there now that 99.9 percent of them won't get to speak a peep. It's a waste of time and money.

While I disagree with the crazy **** being done, as long as nobody is hurt I am glad. Maybe it'll teach our leaders to never take on this stupid responsibility again. Maybe it'll teach the world that these summits are a waste of time/money and we can discontinue them altogether.

why couldnt they just do video confrencing? im in property management, and our building is within those zones so i am not happy that it has come to this (although, we can now justify the money we spent on security)

Not a bad week to be in the commercial glass repair business.
:P

Stupid **** being done by some stupid people. Again, though... I hope we've learned our lesson.

I doubt of morre that 30% of those protesting have even a inkling as to the issues at stake. They simply WANT to protest... Make noise... Do damage simply because the opportunity exists.
