Default *ORIGINAL* S4 RIMS (Chaos/ThePaintballGuy)

Hey guys "and others"

I have a chance to get some S4 Rims *not replicas* with some Pirelli pZ3r0 tires with about 80% tread left.

I have yet to buy rims for the car or new tires and this May 2009 will be my 3rd year owning the car.

My question is the rims appear not to be dented or anything and they just looked scratched a tad. I was thinking of getting them and painting them like you guys did...Only problem is I live in Chicago,IL and spray paint isn't allowed in the CITY for purchasing. I was wondering

A.) Could you guy give me exact paint code (for dupicoler paint?)
B.) Can they ship that stuff to me?
C.) if not would you guys be willing to get it for me and then *uhem ya know*
D.) 250$ for rims with tires LOCAL...seem like a good deal?

EDIT: ** Ok it looks like DUPICOLERS website lists the places it has it
http://www.duplicolor.com/solutions/wheretobuy.html

one of the places is Walmart in NILES,IL (not Chicago) Ok, guys get back to me so I get exact same color I don't wanna gh3y the rims.

DJ,
Why can't you just drive outside the city limits and buy spray paint?
I guess there is that much of a problem with grafitti, huh? ..never been there.
I don't think USPS will let you ship anything in an aerosol can, but maybe try Fedex?
I say don't paint them unless they're completely scraped up. It's best to have them professionally powdercoated again.

And $250 for wheels w/ 80% tread pirelli tires is great - check for dryrot and irregular tire wear on the shoulders.
Are they 17's?

Yeah, they are 17's. The guy is like 20 minutes from me (probably 10 minute away at night)

THey came off his S4/I do intend on driving to NIles to get the paint...but now that I think about it I might have to get the primer as well....I dunno if WALMART has that.

The thing with power coating man is I gotta have that crap shipped and thats way way more $$$$$$$

Powder coating is def way more expensive, but nothing in a spray can will come close in terms of looks and durabiliby.
The S4 or RS4 17"celebration wheels I bought were a little scraped up, but I figured on an 8 yr old car, what the hell? I think mine still look better with a few scrapes than a home paint job.

Take your time, prep the surface as good as you can.
-use brake cleaner or carb cleaner to degrease
-rinse off residue with water, maybe windex
-sand out all deep scratches smooth
-sand the glossy surfaces with fine grit so the primer will stick
-wipe clean with mineral spirits before the first coat of primer
-spray multiple light coats instead of thick coat to prevent runs
-sand/wet sand the primer before the first base coat of paint
