My friend is picking up his 2003 A4 1.8TQ tonight... and he wants to run our cars.


I have an 01 1.8T 5 speed.... his car is an auto... I checked the weight of each car and mine seems to be 200 pounds lighter? Do I have the edge in this? There's an 87% chance I will not run him hahaha just because it's a waste of time.

 

Is your car also a Quattro?

And do you have any modifications?

it's stock though. his car is stock as well

and 87% is just a rough guestimate. seemed like a good number for me to plug in

 

Run him and do it for pinks hahaha. As long as you know how to drive you will take him the tip is quite a noticeable amount slower. Think about it you have basically the exact same hp and both quattro but his is a tip yours is a manual AND your lighter.

 

this is what I was thinking too. He actually said let's go for slips (joking) I looked it up and my car is lighter, so there I have it. I'm not trying to rain on his parade, but I'm also not trying to hit some ice and die ( it's like 10 degrees here. )

Yeah, unless you can't drive, you'll win. 03 vs 03 you'd win with a manual if you can drive it... and being an 01 you've got more of an edge, as (like you said) you're 200 pounds lighter.
Unfortunately though, the B6 is a better car. lol

Haha jks jks... the B5 holds a special place in my heart. I've owned 1 B5 and now onto my 2nd B6... I do prefer the B6 for better build quality, but I still drool over B5 S4's and the like.
