Im thinking about buying a 2001 audi a4 1.8t quattro but I dont know much about the cars....any insight would be great..I can get it for $2k and he says its in fair to good condition with 150k which seemed High to me on the mileage but it is an audi im told??

You could do a bit of searching and come up with the common issues... I'll make it easier for you:

-timing belt
-control arms
-ABS module
-sludge

Start there. You usually get what you pay for. A poorly maintained A4 (or any 1.8T) will be a bastard to own.
