I disagree, for one reason. The Cobalt SS and the SRT-4 are around $20k, whereas the EVO or STi will set you back $30-35. If you gave me an SRT-4 AND $15k to spend on it, the EVO wouldn't look so amazing anymore ($300 of the $15k would go towrds window tint, so no one could see me in it).

But no matter which of the above mentioned four cars you choose*, you would still be driving something that only exists or is only imported to the US because of Fast and Furious, and therein lies the problem. For every cool guy you meet who knew about EVOs before that movie, you'll meet 20 who bought it because they saw the glamourous life of street racing on the big screen and wanted to be cool like Paul Walker.





*Ok, so I know the SRT-4 was on paper before the movie came out, but I'm going to blithely turn my head and feign ignorance. I still blame Paulie Boy.

 

Besides, you could spend $35k on a de-tuned road-going rally car, or you could spend $20k on this.

very true. I know a guy that got the srt-4 cus it was the fastest thing in his price range. sence has done some mods and has a 10 sec car.

 

friend of mine got an 06 STI in sept....and i must say, as ugly *** as the car is, its still a freaking beast....

I like the way the STI looks, and I've driven the 2006 version. It has a lot of torque really low, at least for what I'm used to, and I'm reasonably sure Subaru won't be dead before the warranty is up. I can't say the same for Mitsu.

 

I would get an EVO cos much less common in UK. Every chav boy racer has a SCOOBY over here.
