Well Robert Kubica said during the pre-race interview that he has been testing all winter without Traction Control and that he has forgotten what it was like to drive with TC! The lack of TC definitely may have contributed to Kimi's second 'off' chasing Timo Glock like the commentators said on air. But whatever it is, it made watching the race so much fun with the cars sliding around the track. I think it brings out the inherent skills in the drivers when they do away with the driver aids.

What an awesome race! The new safety car for the '08 season, Mercedes SL63 AMG, had a busy first day at the office.....what was it - 3 safety car periods? Lewis Hamiliton was special. It was great to see him and Mclaren stick it to Ferrari after last year's chaos and drama.
And just for thrills - Timo Glock's spectacular crash: http://youtube.com/watch?v=hMv7RLjkC90

Hell yeah they are, I still remember when Derrick Warwickcrashed, when he was driving for Jordan in the 90's. It was on the first lap I believe, his car tumbled, hit the guard rail, car split in half. The engine half went one way and the monocoque went the other way, which finally landed upside down. Everyone expected the worse, then, he moved around, unhooked himself and got out. He then proceeded to run back to his pit and got in his back up car and continued the race...only to blow up the engine in his back up carORIGINAL: apr_a4

RE: 2008 Formula-1 season!
I just wanted to weigh in on the F1 thread. I am a big Red Bull supporter, I also pull for Kimi even though I am not really fond of Ferrari.
I worked with the Jaguar F1 team in 2004, the Renault team in the off season 04/05 and Red Bull Racing in 05/06 then the Pratt & Miller ALMS Corvette team in 07 as a tire engineer.
