Where were you when the Towers were under attack on that unforgettable morning ??? And did you know anyone who perished that day

I was at home with my daughter and got pissed that my wife still wanted to go to work.Note : I live less than 5 miles from L.A.X. Airport.....not a smart decision on her part.

I had a friend whos mother was on the plane that hit the pentagon.

I was at home, getting ready for school - 6th grade I believe.

If my aunt's office in the pentagon was 2 to the left, then she wouldn't have made it out of there alive - She got pretty lucky I guess.

My heart goes out to all of the families who lost someone close to them! God bless you all!

I remember lying in bed hear Mark And Brian on the radio (they no longer broadcast here in Bako) and hearing them talk about how a small plane hit the #1 tower. By the time I was out of the shower the second hit.

At the time I was teaching computers to women in the Welfare-To-Work program all morning all we did was talk about what happened. I cancelled the rest of the class that day and went home.

Still remember the sick feeling in my stomach as I drove to work hearing how the towers collapsed over the radio...

I had slept in that day and was on my way to school. Got a call from my mom and was told to go directly back home since I went to school in DC, guess she knew I didnt listen to the news on my way in. Then later on I watched my dad live on TV flying his helicopter at the Pentagon air lifting patients. He flew for local police in that area. Then I heard that a second plane might be headed toward the Pentagon, watched my dad LIVE on tv running back to his helicopter to get out of there.

I then shut off the tv and smoked a lot of cigarettes. Good times, F the taliban.

These are some pictures of him on scene, he is the pilot.

I was in High School... freshman year. We were outside for marching band practice and actually heard Flight 93 hit the ground. I went to school at Somerset PA, less than 10 miles from Shanksville where the plane went down. We didn't think anything of it, maybe thunder, didn't even talk about it.
Next period was English class and our teacher had the tv on CNN... guess we all know the rest.

you don't even need to personally know anyone to feel the massive loss that day.

it's hard to think about all the death and destruction, but for a brief time, the outpour of humanity and compassion that our people demonstrated to one another was an inspiration that we can and should love one another despite our differences.

Unhappy

I was less than 5 miles from Ground Zero. I live across the Hudson in New Jersey. I was getting ready to drive to Long Island. Normally I would have gone through lower Manhattan to get there. My girlfriend at the time worked in the city and she was at work.
I remember I was in the shower and the phone rang, I let it ring. It rang again....I thought who ever it is wants to talk to me so i got out and answered it. It was my girlfriends mom telling me to turn on the news. I saw the first plane had hit and I was like WTF!!! then the second....I called my girl and told her to leave immediately. She said she couldn't that she was working.
When she was able to leave she had to walk most of the way home across the George Washington Bridge. I wasn't even able to go pick her up. We lived so close that all the streets and roads around us were blocked off or clogged with emergency vehicles.

She was lucky, she made it home. We lost 5 people from our apartment building that day.
In addition to that we lost 3 friends and several people we know lost family members.
I hate the Taliban and what they did.
I could never watch the movies about 9/11, it always makes me mad that someone is making money off of my friends deaths.
Also for everyone who comes to New Your and visits Ground Zero,
When you go there and take pictures with big smiles on your faces remember that 2,752 lost their lives in the towers. So please be respectful. It make me angry when I see people taking pictures and they are acting all goofy. It is a grave. How would they feel if I went to a cemetery where their friends and family were buried and took pictures in front of their graves like a jackass?

Sorry for the rant it just upsets me that people remember the day but not the people.

***please follow this link and take a look at the names of all the people who lost their lives on9/11***

i went there 2 years after and i assure you, everyone i saw who was viewing the area was very somber. just to see the vast area of the empty space and look at nearby buildings, imagining the even taller ones collapsing, was a very emotional experience.
my heart goes out to every one of those families.

tell someone you love them today, and mean it!

I was at the dentist getting a root canal. He flipped on the TV in the room after the 1st plane had hit. Oddly enough, on the 7 year anniversary, last night, that tooth broke.
