Well, I have first hand knowledge the system does NOT work that way.. For 9 years, my oldest son simply shredded all jury selection summons. He figured if hey, from the start if I never respond , they’ll figure I don’t exist. Right? Wrong. Finally a subpoena came instead of a jury notice. That one you better not shred… Ok, so he goes in front of the judge and claims “I never got any of them!!” The judge says TS, the fact that the post office says the sent and delivered them is all they need. $250 fine, and you WILL be in for selection next Tuesday and respond to EVERY summons after that RIGHT?? right..
A: NOPE!!! a little known (imo should be much more well known) secret....because of the fact that jury duty notices aren't certified mail (meaning you need to sign for them before you receive them), you basically never have to respond to them for the rest of your life.

that happened to someone i know just last year and he just said that they were sending them to the wrong address. a lawyer friend 'advised' him to argue that the mail isn't certified, and therefore they have no way of proving that he received any of them. he got out fine. and most people don't even ever get subpoenaed
