A: I'm an amalgam of several cultural backgrounds. My Great-Grandmother, on my Mother's side was Iriquois. She married a Dutch man. One of her Daughters (my Grandmother) married a Gentleman who's parents were also American-Indian (although I do not kow what tribe), and the Son of a former Slave. Her only Daughter (my Mother) married a Gentleman who's parents were both of mixed lineage. His father was Indian/Afr-American. His Mother was White/Afr-American. Growing up in inner-city Detroit pretty much guaranteed everybody would label me Black. How a color defines an ethnicity has always eluded me, though. My mostly-straight hair (getting curlier, as I age), and the assimilationist linguistics fostered upon me by my Mother often confuses people into thinking I'm some *other* ethnicity, however. Depending on how I choose to wear my hair, and/or dress, I am often mistaken for Hispanic (I speak a little), Middle-Eastern (I am Muslim, by choice, not rearing), and have even been asked several times if I'm Indian (dot in teh forehead Indian, not "Woo-woo-woo me speakum big wampum"-type Indian)

Of course, all this happened LONG before Tiger's retarded-*** CaBlaNegAsian, or whatever da phugk he said he was.
