I have a question for you, SilverSeven. Beamer or Bimmer?

 

Beamer... It has to be... Bimmer just sounds a bit too 'gangsta'!

 

I agree. But I've also heard Bimmer (beamer?) philes say only the uninformed say "Beamer".

 

audi commercials pronounce it "out-e", so i think i'll stick with that one.

 

Well, over here in Eirope, we call them beemers... They were only ever called bimmers after that song came out that mentioned Bimmer. I think its a yank thing. I will continue to call them beemers, and will thumb my nose at any bimmerphiles who take exception!

 

Porsche? or Porsh-a??

 

You spelled it right the first time and you got it right phonetically the second time. It is(always) a two syllable word.

 

I agree.... i always say Porch-a, but have the debate with people..... actually at a porsche dealership once, the @sshole salesmen corrected me and told me it was pronounced "porsche"... i started laughing at him and he did not like that very much. When we went inside, the financing guy or whoever came out, i asked him how it was pronounced and he said "porsch-a".... so then i turned to my salemen and jsut rolled my eyes at him, and told him i'd have to buy my porsch-a from another dealership, one that had salemen that could pronounce it correctly....

i kinda lied though, i had no intention of buying the thing in the first place, but it was an excellent test drive

 

That's a trip. I can't believe a salesman would be such a dumbass....oh, wait....I totally believe a salesman would be such a dumbass.

edit - I think it is cool that you would sneak out for a testdrive like that - and that you pulled it off. Try that when the new turbo comes out and tell me about it.
