Ok heres the deal I gotta do this research paper on someone who has significantly changed/influenced the mainstream. Kinda like how Bell invented the telephone or Edison invented the lightbulb you know crap like that. The thing is I'd rather write about someone whos not boring or copied a million times before. So, I was thinking of correlating how Audi's use of the quattro transformed rallying and made AWD a mainstream thing. Now I know Audi didn't invent AWD. I'm trying to figure out how I can use for example Dr. Horch or anyone else from Audi to say well this guy's implementation of the quattro changed/influenced cars as we know it today. So my questions are, who can be "blamed" for the quattro craze? and am I just wasting my time? Suggestions, facts, links whatever would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Audi did have to invent AWD to be a revolutionary. Think about the cat who first sliced bread? He did not invent bread or the knife.
