Here are pics of a couple Audi S8 police cars from the Moscow area. A8 police cars a lot more common, as opposed to the S8, but most just have blue police plates and blue beacons without the graphics.

Yeah those departments are totally non corrupt. I mean cops NEED to drive around in $50,000 vehicles right?

 

I wonder what sort of magic they use to get that magnetic light to stay atop an aluminum car?

 

Actually, most cars of this class that are used by the police in Russia (there are a bunch of S-class and 7 series cars too) are either reposessed from criminals, or are cars that are towed and never claimed. After about a year or something in the impound yard, cars are appropriated for police use. The fanciest cars that are purchased for police use in Moscow are Passats and Mondeos.

 

umm 50,000 isnt too bad for a police car.. an Impala all tricked out fleet style with all the bells and whistles can come pretty damn close to that.. i mean crap its 13k for the cage

There are 2 ways: double sided adhesive tape, or mounting brackets. Beacon manufacturers like Premier Hazard, Sho-me, Landun and others make mounting brackets of various types that attach to the door frame and have a suction cup that attaches to the roof. Needless to say, many prefer mounting brackets, especially if the beacon itself costs around $300. Here are a couple examples
