Default Audi of USA customer service

I was talking to my friend once and he said something that I have always wondered about (he very often exaggerated on certain things).

He said that if some thing happens to your Audi and it is something that shouldn't of happened, and not if you had a warranty just say your driving and your engine exploded and you didn't have a warranty. You could write to Audi of USA and they may possibly pay for the repairs. Anyone else heard of this?

Always wondered if that was a story he made up or if it was something true.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that Audi of USA isn't exactly interested in the concerns of Audi customers who have the unmitigated gall to call and bother them with complaints.

Others may have different views. But, I can't recall a single person ever coming here to praise them.

I am with you on that. I talked to them today about a complaint I had from my local dealership and they showed no interest.

I always found them to be very polite but completely lacking in the knowledge necessary to address any of my concerns. They always refer me back to the dealer as the source of "all knowledge."

Example of simple question to Audi CS: When the Bose radio is replaced under warranty does Audi also reimburse them to hook up the A6 to the dealer computer to have the car recognize that the new radio is part of a Bose system? (After the dealer charged me $60 for this service). Answer: We don't know, the dealer should have this information.
