Default camera people

i have a pretty basic camera, a cannon SD 1000.
i took some cool pics that i want to have enlarged and framed.

what is the maximum size i can enlarge it without it losing too much clairity?

and where do i take the memory card to have this done/

i'd like the copy to be on good quality paper, but i don't think it necessarily needs to be on kodak photo paper.

what are your suggestions?
i've never done anything with my photos other than print out regular pics.

the maximum size will depend mainly on the number of megapixels contained in the pictures, and on the quality of the printer.

your max resoltion seems to be about 7 megapixels which would put you at 8x10 according to this link,

^ x2 It mainly depends on pixel dimensions. The smaller the dimensions the crappier it looks when blown up. You can blow up photos at home or you can go to Wal-Mart or Target and use one o' them fancy touch-screen printin' machines. Just make sure to bring your SD card. Film FTW.

X3

There are also websites that you can upload your pictures in full resolutions and have them printed and mail them to you. Some are usually cheaper than how much most Kodak Center/Target would charge and usually printed with higher quality (paperwise and inkwise).

Adorama has one of the best quality prints I've seen. A bit pricier than some tho.

I don't know if Office Max does it. Not sure if they actually have photo papers available.
I know I've enlarged pictures Kinko's before and came out pretty good. Though they don't carry photo papers but they do have 'glossy' paper to make up for it. If you're planning to frame the picture, glossy will work.

Chain drug stores, CVS, Duane Read, Walgreens have photo centers that you can have prints made etc. They usually have quality paper/ink.

^ Same with Wal-Mart, Target, probably K-Mart. As far as chain stores go I've always thought Target had pretty high quality prints. This is coming from a film guy too so my photos always get printed.
