Is 101mph misdemeanor reckless driving in VA or not? Is exhibition of speed a misdemeanor there?

 

Depends on how the cop writes teh ticket, I'm told. He wrote mine as wreckless. Wreckless is automatic for anyting 20 over. Beyond that it's the judges call. I'm going to take a multi-faceted approach...

call and ask for printout and calibration ticket
since I've got "ezpass" I can pull up my records for the last year, if I have to, do a little time/distance calcs to show how I "Usually" drive on the toll
coupled with my recollections (read: notes. Cops use them, so can *I*) uf the cops 1) driving behavior, 2) behavior after pulling me over (he was so obviously AMP'D on adrenaline is rediculous, 3)my behavior just prior to being pulled over (I was doing, like 60-65 when he "caught" me a mile later), if I WERE doing 101 he wouldn't have caught up with me so soon. He didn't "light" me up until well after he caught up with me.

Plus a couple other things... We'll see how it turns out.

damn that sucks jazz, i got pulled over doing like 113 but the cop only got 98 on the radar and he let me off with only careless driving. but another clocked me at 108 and wrote me a ticket, and in florida anything 30 mph over the limit, you automatically have to go to a judge and explain why you're going that fast. i got mine reduced to 99 mph cuz the cop had all his paperwork and ****. oh and dont ever count on the cop not showing up, especially if your over 15 mph over the limit. they will show up. but if its only 10 or so over the cops hardly show up and even if they do the court throws out like a bunch of tickets randomnly and lets people leave without having to defend their case. but for anything serious like going over 100 i say you should just get a lawyer, chances are he can get you out of it (and a lot offer money back guarantee's) and it will end up costing a lot less

LOL, I wonder what the penalty is over there if you are a citizen.

 

In IL i think anything over 40mph over the speed limit is a class C missdonmener (which i got) and was charged with wreckless endangerment.

Lawyer did his job though.

 

I wouldn't want to find out. Not sure how he got his Accord up to 240kph... maybe trying out the rev limiter?

this should help because you were speeding but from a thrid party point of view id say guilty but let you off with a break, you passed a bunch of dum@$$ but you were just tired and trying to take it easy(for the most part) also you were about to try and race a cop which is no good.

 

WTF i got clocked at 35 over, had a legit answer to why i was speeding ( honestly was not entirely awake at the moment and didnt really feel like i was going fast, new road and good suspension) they tried to hit me with a Felony cahrge and do 2 weeks in jail. or four weekends and an ankel braclet because i was a full time student.
