Your model is over simplified. You can't force every beer into one of those nondescript "styles." What kind of dark beer is that referring to? Stout? Porter? Nut brown? Black Lager? That's like trying to smash the square block into the circular hole.

I'm deeply offended.

Red Tail ale brewed in Nor Cal in Ukiah, awesome tasting beer for $10 a 12 pack.
Bud light, is my second choice for just cheap old whatever beer.

Red face

EW! Coors, Miller, Bud, all of that type. I'll drink the higher % "fruity" beer for the same price(for the cheap w/quality). Obviously you never been to an Oktoberfest or you would know what beer can be(for the pure quality). If it wins a gold medal than by all means tell all those people there wrong. Start here http://www.lagunitas.com/ http://www.avbc.com/tour/bvlbeer.html. Beer shouldnt give you a stomach or head ache, educate yourself before claiming anything. Cheers!

At the local beer store (Sam the Beer Man) I can get a case of Yuengling bottles for $17 out the door (tax and bottle deposit included). That's cheap enough for me, especially considering I love Yuengling and can't even drink the panther **** stuff like OM and Bud - it just tastes like someone wrung out a sweaty sock into a pint glass by comparison.

On the contrary, I've been to many beer festivals and have brewed many batches of beer myself. You could say I know a thing or two about beer.

I understand that the fruit beer style requires, well, fruity flavors. I even respect the decisions made by those that brew it, as they usually hit their marks and capture the style very well. I just don't want a blueberry hef, a raspberry brown, or a strawberry blonde because 1: they're far too sweet and all of that extra sugar added in covers up any of the subtle after tastes you'll get from a specialty grain or a good batch of hops and, 2: I don't think I'd look very good in a skirt.

Alright... I'll take it easy. I guess you do have reasonable taste in beer. Mendocino brewery knows what they're doing. Their Blue Heron and White Hawk are pretty solid beers.

^^^Yeah and you really only acquire that taste after having about 10-15 of them.
