If you use a lighter it's supposed to be butane because it's odorless and tasteless, but it's your cigar so use whatever lighter you want. Personally I just use my Zippo.

...or if you have a natural gas stove, you could light it off that.

You could, but the only natural gas stove I have access to is parents' and they don't want me to smoke in the house; no matter how expensive and awesome the cigar is.

I like CAO and Cohiba for the most part. I'll have an acid if I'm looking for a little different flavor, but I'm always up for trying new ones. By far the best Cuban I had was a Monte Cristo, I wish I knew exactly which one. Smooth, flavorful, and lasted long. Deffinatly got my money worth out of that one. Romeo Y Julieta cuban I didn't care for. I had a couple vintage '92 Rocky Patel and they were pretty good. But I do like mild-full bodied cigars. This reminds me that I need to re-charge my humidor. I like mine, it holds about 75 and you can play chess on it lol.

^ I had the same Rocky, I liked it a lot and will probably buy that one if the candidate I want to win does in fact win.

I mentioned early in this thread about having a Rocky Vintage 92 (and a '90). No plans to smoke them for at least a couple more years though. Have a bunch of pipe tobacco I'm gonna age for a few years as well.

Going back to the cutters though, I have a traditional cutter, and a punch. Still need a 'V' cutter. Style of cigar decides style of cutter. Made my own punch out of a piece of stainless tubing sharpened on one end.

^ Nice. Does a punch allow for the same amount of smoke on a draw that a traditional cut does?

From what I read, the punch is supposed to allow for a more even draw, but I've never noticed a difference. I like the punch though, kind of keeps it a little cleaner.

I see I see. I'll have to give that a try sometime. I had a Rocky Patel vintage 1990 this morning and it was great. Because of the outcome of the election I personally feel it wasn't as good as it could have been.
