Company Car
Hey all, I haven't been here for a while, and thought I would stop by again like old times. I got a new job and am usually busy and stuff now so can't be here at work (except today
)
But, I'm thinking of selling my car
I got a company cay with my new position ('06 Mazda 6 'sport'), and only have to pay $.12/ mile for personal miles and they cover gas. So I would be saving a bunch of money if I didn't have to pay insurance or car payments on my A4. I looooooooooooove my car (especially after driving a Mazda 6 for a while), but I'm a somewhat practical person. I bought a sport bike a month or so ago, and can get my speed kicks from that. I'll just certainly miss the quality of my Audi. The company lease ends in a few months, so I can pick out any new car then (within a reasonable price range).
So what do you think? I could save my money that would normally go for to my car, and save up for a better car if I get canned or miss it too much. What do you think I can sell an '01 1.8tqm for? A couple of my wheels have scratches, a couple chips on the hood, but besides that in great shape - new tires too. I think there's about 56k miles on her. I'm sad thinking about it, and I'll cry when I hand over the keys... It blue book's at around 13k I believe, and I paid about that much for it a year ago.
On a more fun note, do you think I'd get in trouble if I Auto-x'd my mazda???

Check with teh usual suspect for price ranges for '01's:

Maybe you cud gett them to leas you a nice '07A4 when renewal times comes around?!?!?
And, YES you will get in trouble if you AutoX your company car, especially when you start Modding&Upgrading
... The welded-in frame cross-bracing and fart-can exhaust will be a dead giveaway[

Since you're in this position and plan on keeping the job (I assume) i'd sell it. As much as it pains me to say that it'll be more practical for your budget espeically since they only charge so little for personal miles.
Either way, when the company lease is up, you can push for a new A4 to join the fleet :P
On another note: only 13k?!? Damnit I wish I was in the U.S.

It is so sad looking for other car prices[X(]. I looked over my shoulder to make sure my car isn't watching.
Its tough to find a direct comparison for prices, some where selling for ~10k, others more, others less... But it Blue Book's at around 13, so maybe I'll start at 13.5, and see what happens. If it doesn't sell quickly, I won't mind.
Maybe I won't miss my car much if I get that AWD conversion kit for the Mazda. There isn't THAT many turns between work and home...
