Hey,

Where is a decent place to live in MD? I may have to move down there for work. I currently work from home for a columbia based company but it looks like my boss wants me in the office.

They are going to pay to relocate me but I need to start looking for a house.

If anyone has any suggestions on areas in or around columbia, MD that I should be looking let me know. I don't want to be spending 500k for a 100sq ft house which is a former crack den so mid level affordable house costs would be great

 

well your i luck, we are fresh out of crack den's but we do have crack halls and crack bedrooms.

 

hahah :P from just looking at house prices today i have sticker shock. Ugly *** houses are selling for 450+k insane.

 

I'm becoming increasingly supprised At what people think they should ask for houses in citys all around the country.

 

Tell me about it, some of these places look like they are about to fall down. I don't consider a 1200 sq ft house thats selling for 300+k a "fixer upper" ya know? Hell that repair bill could be put towards new toys for the car :P

 

or you could just spend the extra money and get the house where you want to live an by a privat plane and commute. haha.

I'm kinda pissed we just dropped 25k into our current house for new windws, floors and we need to get some work done on the roof.

I'm gonna try and get at least that bumped into my salary and relocation package though *evil grin*

 

absolutly, If the boss wants you there that bad, he kinda needs to pay you to inconvenence yourself.

 

it'll be a tough sell though, as of the 1st of the year I had a similar salary bump. We'll see though. even without a salary bump for the move it'd set the stage for future career advances .... so ... torn...

you know what I mean thou, If the salary increase doesn't pay for getting you into a comperable place, then your actualy loosing money one the deal.
