Default Diesel cars ban in Paris

Hmmm... what do you think about this?

"Mayor of Paris wants to completely ban diesel cars until 2020"

Source - Mayor of Paris wants to completely ban diesel cars until 2020 - CamaroCarPlace

Do you think diesel cars could be banned in other countries too? I'm driving a petrol car, so I wouldn't care if that would happen, how about you?

Very, very disappointing. Diesel cars had a bad rap in the 80's for black clouds coming from their tailpipes. It destroyed diesel car sales in the USA. Today, diesel's have been cleaned up. The mayor needs to leave pollution control to the professionals. France is up to the Euro 6 emission standards for new cars. I could understand him saying that all cars in Paris need to be up to Euro 4 or 5 standards. There just isn't much difference between new petrol and diesel cars in terms of pollution today.

I have a Diesel Audi A6 gives 6.3 L/100Km consistantly on long trips and no rotten egg gas out the tail pipe. Emission particles are heavier so less atmospheric polution. Also you get more diesel from a barrel of crude than petrol.
Maybe he should stick to issuing parking tickets and talking with developers.
