Default dilemma, to sell or not

ok heres my dilemma.

recently i've been thinking about how i should have bought a 1.8T 5spd, instead of a tip 2.8. the logic was "hey the 2.8 is faster stock, and i live on LI with a buttload of traffic, so a standard transmission would be a pain in the ***" so i found my car, for a good deal, drove it fell inlove with it and bought it
note: this is well before i was aware of how easily moddable a 1.8 is ><

i mean i think my car is beautiful (love the interior and such), but like its way too slow imo... i'm trying to make a decision... should i sell my 2.8 (that has 77k and well maintained) and buy a 1.8 (since prices have dropped a bit since last summer), and spend the difference in modding, or just keep the car???

also i figure the 4-cylinder would be a little nicer on the wallet in terms of gas, but if i mod there goes that... i dunno, i guess i'm just talking, but anyone sell their 2.8 for a 1.8t???
