Default DPF Delete Pipe: Is it worth it for performance and reliability?

Hello everyone.

I'm researching the use of a DPF delete pipe on a diesel vehicle and would like to hear real-world experiences from others who have done it. My main curiosity is whether removing the DPF actually improves performance, fuel economy, and long-term engine reliability, or if it simply shifts problems elsewhere.

I’ve seen conflicting opinions about increased smoke, turbo stress, and potential ECU issues. Additionally, I’m concerned about legality, emissions compliance, and inspection requirements in different regions.

For those who have tried it, was it worth the modification, or would you recommend staying with a stock DPF system for daily driving?
