Default E30 M3????

Been looking at it a lot lately. If you can find a clean one with not too many miles seems to be an amazing car. Besides the fact that its an M3, my friends are all into Bimmers and from what I hear theyre pretty reliable and easily modded..... any input????

I doubt they're either reliable or easily modded. Unbelieveable car, but if you want to mod (for power especially) I'd buy one of the 325is of the same year and either swap in an S52 or whatever the 3.2L current M3 engine is coded, or let 2.5L of straight six spool a nice big turbo. That engine they have in the E30 M3 is really high compression, and kinda high strung. What they don't tell you is that the 325is is nearly as fast to 60 as the M3. Plus it has torque.
Besides, E30s cost a lot due to rarity. I have only ever seen a handful.

Handles great. Unbelievable driver feedback for such an 'old' model. They are hard to find though, especially in decent condition. And therefore can demand a premium. But if you can get your hands on one go for it. They can be transformed into a very fun track car, however they are not the quickest/cheapest option as a project car. Good luck
